[ARCHIVED] Water & Sewer Rates

Water & Sewer Rate Info

All municipalities that utilize water services through the City of Wyoming and sewer services through the City of Grandville will be affected by the rate increases. The increase is in response to upcoming infrastructure improvements necessary to continue service, as well as a need for increased capacity due to growth in areas such as Georgetown. Georgetown Township relies on the City of Wyoming for water transmission and comprises 15-21% of total usage, particularly throughout the summer months.

A water reliability study conducted by the City of Wyoming in 2023 found that the water system is rapidly heading toward unsustainable capacity levels and steps to account for area growth and increased demand will need to be taken sooner rather than later. The plan calls for a number of infrastructure updates leading to an eventual plant expansion project projected for 2034.

Beginning on the July 15 water bill cycle, the new water rates will be charged.  This new rate does cover all water usage listed on the bill.  The rate increase went from $3.15 per thousand gallons to $4.90.  Sewer rates will increase from $5.00 per thousand gallons to $5.05.  Quarterly operation and maintenance fees for Wyoming Water Plant and Grandville Sewer Plant infrastructure will be reflected on water/sewer bills.
